Cool Aid Society Secures Emergency Funding from United Way and City of Grande Prairie, Ensuring Services Continue Until June 2025

Grande Prairie, AB – Thanks to the incredible support of United Way, which has stepped forward with an emergency contribution of $30,000, and the City of Grande Prairie’s commitment to matching that amount through our existing FCSS contract, Cool Aid Society is proud to announce that we will continue providing essential services to the youth of Grande Prairie until June 30, 2025.

This funding is a testament to the value of Cool Aid’s work and the vital role we play in offering a safe, inclusive space for youth. It has been made possible through the unwavering advocacy of our community, partners, and committee members.

With these combined contributions totalling $60,000, Cool Aid Society has the time to work tirelessly with our community and explore long-term solutions to secure a sustainable monthly funding contract to replace the major government funding we recently lost.

We still need the support of our community to advocate for children’s mental health and no-cost youth programs. We invite local businesses to sponsor programs or classes, and we encourage everyone to reach out to our MLA and provincial and federal representatives to highlight the importance of this cause.

Cool Aid Society remains dedicated to our mission of empowering youth through mentorship, mental health support, and access to positive opportunities that help them thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

We want to thank our partners at Housing & Community Development, FCSS, the City of Grande Prairie, and United Way for their belief in the work we do and for giving us this opportunity to keep our doors open and continue serving the community.

Our Board of Directors, leadership team, and staff are committed to finding a long-term, sustainable solution for Cool Aid. With the support of our community and local businesses, we are confident that we can create a strong future for the youth of Grande Prairie.
